Karrigan - 5 days

For only 5 days old, this little girl was very aware she had a photographer taking photos of her... she underestimated the power of sleepiness after feeding... we adults know some tricks at this age.
Karrigan is the first child of a past client of mine. They were married and I was their wedding photographer. Now, they have a child years down the road and I now get to see Karrigan, and her parents... it’s kind of fun to call them parents now... every 3 months, and build a beautiful baby album which she’ll cherish all her life. I like to imagine that one day, some of the baby portaits that I take today, will be packed up and taken away to college for a child to remember a parent, and a childhood. I sometimes will have a new father not really want to be in a photo... and I tell them when that child is 18 and looks at the photo that has been put away for some time now... that child will melt when they know it’s them and you... almost every time, its an immediate response from the once reluctant father... which, by the way... was not Karrigan’s father, and not that it matters, just enjoy seeing the response, and knowing how powerful photography is, and will be down the road. We tend to underestimate good photography and beautiful portraits this day in age with digital cameras and now digital picture frames, everywhere. Those are great, and fun, and must haves... but a really nice set of beautiful photos, and archival prints can one day become priceless... be sure back up all you digital photos...do it this week... you never know when that computer is gonna crash!
