The family moved before she turned 3 months old, so we got her at two months. Well, thankful, as Karrigan’s Grandma who lives here will agree.. it is good to have them back in Boise! Today we captured Karrigan’s 6 month portraits, and I will see her again in 3 months for her 9 month... which, Karrigan’s mommy told me her plans for a big pumpkin!!! ... I can’t wait to see her, and her costume, and the whole family again in the Fall!

Armed with his camera in waterproof gear, Ropp said, "I want to stay on top of market trends, avoid the usual." After Roaring Springs, there were plans for photos on a trampoline, at the Boise River, on a tire swing and having a cake fight. Their official wedding will be Aug. 1 at the Idaho Botanical Garden, where she'll wear a different gown, one she bought while living in China. ... Park and Plane are Boise High School graduates and Boise State University students.

The wedding is the end of August, and the farmer’s almanac says it has not rained on that date in over 10 years...so we should be golden! Scott told me he wants a fun wedding... a party, a celebration to have fun at...

...Amy and Scott also want me to design and print their wedding invitations using the photos from this photo session. Be sure to check back the end of August to see photos from their “Celebration”!!!

I like to imagine that one day, some of the baby portaits that I take today, will be packed up and taken away to college for a child to remember a parent, and a childhood. I sometimes will have a new father not really want to be in a photo... and I tell them when that child is 18 and looks at the photo that has been put away for some time now... that child will melt when they know it’s them and you... almost every time, its an immediate response from the once reluctant father... which, by the way... was not Karrigan’s father, and not that it matters, just enjoy seeing the response, and knowing how powerful photography is, and will be down the road. We tend to underestimate good photography and beautiful portraits this day in age with digital cameras and now digital picture frames, everywhere. Those are great, and fun, and must haves... but a really nice set of beautiful photos, and archival prints can one day become priceless... be sure back up all you digital photos...do it this week... you never know when that computer is gonna crash!

Julie and Drew - Wedding

Julie and Drew were one of my favorite couples of 2008. I already knew them pretty well from the engagement portrait session we did, and knew a handful of the bridesmaids already too, from past weddings... as they are all a part of a big circle of friends... so it was kind of like a family reunion of sorts. And this summer, I am photographing two of Julie’s bridesmaids’ weddings!

...So this day was an interesting day... the pollin had Drew’ hopped up on allergy pills, and the weather kept threatening to rain, but never really did... instead, gave us amazing light all day... check out the image of Julie dancing with her dad... the light on that is amazing... on them and in the background.

Then... just as they were getting ready to leave in the convertible... it did sprinkle just a little... just enough to cool everything down a bit, give us a nice smell, and let us know, the wedding was over... it was a great, long, fun day... and the photos live to tell the tale.

I am starting to see more and more of this happening, as now I am offering maternity, new born and baby portraits to my recently married couples. I love getting the opportunity to do their baby’s new born, 3, 6,9, and 12 month old portraits. I get to see a child growing right in front of me, as I see the major changes inbetween each photo shoot that the parent’s don’t notice as they are so close to the child every day. In the end, when I present the baby album, or a framed timeline, then, the parent’s also see their child as I did... baby steps that are leaps and bounds.
